Star Wars

ok time for another one, this time old Ben Kenobi. I really liked Eric Poulton’s take on the character of Obi Wan, especially his “gentleman” look. I took it a little bit further and sort of had him with a more “sand” people look to him. Having spent years in the Tatooine deserts have changed Obi Wan to adapt a more tribal look to better blend in the region.
Initially I wanted him to be smoking opium but opted on the hookah for design purposes.

Did a quick sketch of the Droids. Wanted to show more of the steampunk technology since I felt it was lacking in the last posts. Found an awesome site of a clock maker who uses a lot of gears and old moving pieces to decorate mantle clocks, gave me the inspiration for the tech on the droids.droids

Here’s the site of the Clock maker if your interested: Klockwerks

Ok time for one more. This time Han Solo and Chewie. Wanted to do a more real human kinda thing so decided that since Han is essentially a pirate, Chewie could be his trusted first mate. In the traditional pirate history many Captains had black non-slave first mate. In order to keep Chewie looking almost alien he needed to stick out as a foreigner in London at the end of the century, thus I gave him an almost primitive look to counter the Victorian style.

The image took a lot longer than what I wanted, but nonetheless I had a lot of fun with it. Sketched it out directly on the computer, then I did the background very simple in 3d and painted over the whole thing in Photoshop.
